This has plenty of power. Starts out with a swagger, introducing the apricot, pineapple and toast flavors, then picks up again on the finish, where the bracing structure emerges, driving the dried citrus, toast, spice, and mineral flavors to a long conclusion. Best from 2010 through 2030.

A ripe and highly expressive nose features a complex mix of pretty white flower and orchard fruit aromas that merge into unusually linear and precise flavors that are extremely rich, wonderfully powerful, taut and muscular with exceptional length and almost painful intensity. While this is not as concentrated as some wines in the range, what I like about the wine though is the impeccable balance and detail, which is relatively rare in classic examples of Bâtard. Built to age.
